I don't get it.

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 2:18 PM
The Yahoo! homepage had up an article not too long ago (it may still be up) about gay marriage in Maine. I simply do not understand the huge opposition to gay rights. It's so stupid to deny an entire group their equality in this day and age, let alone in this country. What happened to America, land of opportunity and freedom? We're slipping backwards and it's utterly embarassing.

I think, within a few generations, after our grandparents and parents are gone we'll have our civil rights. After the lingering ignorance is gone. Many children of people who believe it's wrong to give this group their rights don't mimic their parents. This is the internet generation and, I believe, a generation of acceptance for the most part. We are gaining support but just not enough, not yet. Patience.

I'm waiting for my rights, Obama. To quote Lady Gaga, "ARE YOU LISTENING!?" I want my rights! That goes for my home, South Carolina, and every state in this great nation. California, Maine, every corner of America, our territories, need to give us our civil rights. We need to set an example to be followed, to become a new kind of world power. An acceptance, a tolerance for all. That's what we need and what we need to spread througout the world.

I wish I could have attended the march recently in DC. In the future I plan to attend some rallies, marches, anything. I want to help this cause beyond this journal and my Facebook page, my MySpace, the essays in college read only by my teachers. Let me have my right, my happiness. We're a land of the brave, let us be free.

LGBT.

(please excuse my silly rant).

strange things

Mon Sep 14, 2009, 9:07 AM
Where's the art? No where really. Teachers have it and I have no scanner. It finally broke down completely. Kaput. Le end. Rest in peace, Scanner.
I have a lot of stuff to do tonight and this week. College is far more demanding than highschool. *sigh* I'll get over it.
I found strange things the other night. Mac/PC slash from those commercials. The hell? It makes me laugh in a nerdy way.
And I colored my hair again. It didn't come out exactly like I wanted but close enough.
Anywho when I can afford a scanner, new art. Until then, nothing.
Perhaps I should start working on my tablet again.

Still life is lifeless

Why is it called still life when most of what is drawn never was alive to being with? Shoes! Freaking shoes all week. I hate them.
I go to the class barefoot!! (or at least with flipflops I take off as soon as I get there)
What crud.
I have to now shade a 14x17 drawing of a boot before class tomorrow. God, shoot me.

Also, woo! Season 3 of Heroes comes out on DVD tomorrow. Totally getting it!
Hiro is my Hero!

...and I'm such a Mohinder/Matt junkie.

I'm a big kid now!

Well, I'm a college kid either way. Classes start Wednesday and I've been doing Welcome Week since last Saturday.
Pretty nifty. I can't wait for my 3 hour art classes for four days a week :)
